Teatro Ambrosia is a group experience that started on 2009 when Lis Nobre, brazilian performer,just moved to Greece, or better to Zakynthos, ionian island met Efi Anyfanti, greek artist during the rehearsals of the group Helix Street Theatre, in Athens.
After three months of human and artistical exchanges in Zakynthos, they created one version of The Birds of Aristophanes for Clown and Open Space, two languages that the group wants to explore and to research.
This experience was showed for the first time abroad recently: in Brazil! On May,201o they were part of the program of the 5ª Interplanetary Clown´s Week, a clown meeting happened in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, southeast of Brasil.This meeting is organized by the Coletivo de Palhaços(Clown´s colective) www.coletivodepalhacos.com and is a beautiful opportunity to meet and exchange with clown and comediens from all over the world!Back in Greece, now they just plan the news steps for one theatrical meeting,this time in Zakynthos.
The aims of Ambrosia Theatre is to develop the artistical dialogue and exchange between Greece-Brasil and other countries from Europe and Latin America.Also to develop complementarities and sinergies between cultural actors and initiatives in the region.
The group is abble also to provide technical assistance also to the public authorities to formulate inclusive cultural policies and to develop a legal and regulatory framework for the cultural sector, special the street and non-convention space performances in Greece.
We also aim to organize cultural policy of exchange,seminars and workshops.
Our baseland is Athens and Zakynthos Island.And our personal network is in connection with all over the world.
The arts is an opportunity to leave the humanity to experience the best side of the human potencials.Theatre is the spirit food, as the Ambrosia was for the godess!
